Adieu For Now

| More

Welcome to the (second to) last podcast of the FM Experiment with DJ Joyride from KNDS 96.3FM Fargo-Moorhead. I do have 1 more show to post, but I've already packed the computer that contains the files. The last show, which aired on October 28th, 2011, was sprinkled with call-in messages from the DJs, promoters, and friends that I have worked with over the last 8 years at the station. I think it made the show pretty special.

Please keep in touch with me. I hope that it will not take long to begin creating new greatness in Portland, OR. My phone: 612-234-1143 and nicholas.goodroad [at] gm ~a~ il.com --- take time now to add me to your contact list.

Looking to the Future, Joyride gazes at the stars. KEEP IN TOUCH.

A Big Dance Weekend

| More

If you're living in the Fargo-Moorhead area and are college-aged through your thirties and love this program, you should be feeling spoiled by the number of dance-friendly spaces lately. Well, I'm loving it, too. New events, large and small are popping up all over the region. This week we've got DJ Baktatr and Ratafatat from Sovereign Sect, Chuck Wang, and Matthew from jam trio O'Fosho.

Star IV (left), Dw (behind arm), and Joyride at the last Mid-Week Freq.

FM Experiment is on summer hours

| More

Hi friends and fans of the FM Experiment,

I've had a lot of listeners contact me at my email address asking why I haven't been posting new podcasts. Summertime is a little strange at KNDS 96.3FM. With all of the students gone and summer events running at a fever-pitch and all of this BEAUTIFUL weather, I have moved the post-it for putting out podcasts to the "I'm not doing it" pile. More shows are coming in the fall.

To tide you over, a video from Amanda Palmer.

| More

LESS THAN 1 WEEK AWAY FROM THE RETURN OF THE GRINDHOUSE TRAILERS FESTIVAL!

Time flies when you’re having fun.  Time flies even faster when you’re busy putting the finishing touches on an event like GRINDFEST!

With less than a week until the next presentation, the proverbial “promotional train” is blazing down the tracks.  Film critic Christopher Jacobs published his review of GRINDFEST 2 in this week’s issue of the High Plains Reader (click the link to read that article: http://hpr1.com/film/article/battle_of_the_filmfests).  And starting tonight during the F-M Experiment (6p -8p), our sponsors - KNDS 96.3 FM - will be giving away a pair of DOUBLE FEATURE tickets.  Don’t fret if you miss your chance though as KNDS will be giving away 2 more sets of DOUBLE FEATURE tickets on Wednesday, April 20th, during The Live Jack’d Radio Show (5p – 7p) and Radio Red-E (9p – 12p).  Speaking of radio, your fearless festival promoters will also be joining Dave Jacobs and Robbie Daniels next week on 107.9 FM during The Fox Morning Show to talk about trashy trailers and the people who love them!

Although we’re busy trying to get the word out about GRINDFEST 2 there is only so much we can do.  If you know someone who loves film (or is just looking for something to do on a Thursday night) please forward this message along.  Spread the word about this wholly-unique, ONE NIGHT ONLY experience!

And if you haven’t already planned to attend this cinematic circus, there is still plenty of time to clear your schedule and prepare yourself for a night of shock and schlock.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE GRINDFEST!

March 25th: Back From Hiatus!

| More

I've been to Fort Myers, Daytona, Duluth, Andover, and stuck in a blizzard, sleeping in my car since you last heard from me... Thankfully, I know that you were in good hands. While travelling, I got to see some of the best clubs in the Orlando area and get out to meet some old school DJ friends (Dyami Tsunami, Captain Kidd, and Neil Gaines). In the process, I found a renewed passion for DJ'ing and uncovered some music that I'm sure you will enjoy. Oh... I'll be posting podcasts from while I was away later this week.
